Lightbulb Git / Github repository and Ohloh.net stats

    Hi!

    git.zarafa.com was launched:

    And now, it reads:
"We are currently performing maintenance on git, as we work on moving our code to Github!"

When this done, can the info be updated at ?

    Thanks!

P.S. This is perhaps not the right forum for this message, but I looked at the list and didn't see any forum for marketing / general development.

    Hi marclaporte,

We are currently looking into the possibilities of moving code into external channels like Github because we see some interesting opportunities in terms of e.g. the distribution and promotion of Zarafa’s code, just like other companies and organizations are doing as well.

Important to mention: nothing is decided yet. We’ll keep you updated in communications channels like this forum, community hub and twitter.

Thanks for your suggestion; I have put it on our list to update when necessary.

    Hi Lennart!

    Any news on this?

The sooner it happens, the sooner people can contribute. Also, Ohloh.net stats are great for promotion.

    Thanks!

Unhappy No git.zarafa.com and nothing on github

I am also interested in this topic - especially as git.zarafa.com was turned off before anything has been put onto github. And even turning off git.zarafa.com was nearly one year ago if I am not completely mistaken From my perspective of contributing to upstream (Zarafa) and downstream (Fedora) having no public accessible version control system/source code control system is just painful: It is hard to impossible to e.g. verify if a patch was already merged or not (or if it was merged really correct) - or backporting a bugfix from trunk into a stable release (like for MariaDB recently). Zarafians, a real open source software should IMHO have a public accessible version control system/source code control system - be it on github, hosted by your own or somewhere else...
I install, configure, customize, integrate and maintain Zarafa setups in different environments since 2007. If you want my full attention, please send me a private message and ask for paid support.

    Hey!

    What's new on this?

It's a pain to find out the released sourcecode has bugs which literally had to be fixed or else no one would be able to compile (like missing docs). For now I'd have to create a fix myself. So I've to do the same work you already did. This is wasteful!

I'm very sure you'd like to have the community to put afford and time in better things then this?

You're still mentioning git on this Page

So does the Git-Server run at any time?
