    Invalid sub item in ical, unable to save message

    Hello guys,

    I have a running zarafa (z-admin) server which was deployed on a clean installation of ubuntu LTR 12.04 Server with everything up to date. We have a small business subscription.

    Until now everything works fine exept of the iCal/webDav functionallity. The Windows Users with the latest version of Thunderbird an Lightning 1.9.1 don´t have any problems. Only one user running Linux with TB 24 and LN 2.63b has the problem that he is unable to sync the calendar or to wirte to it. To Read files works fine. His client outputs the message: MOFICATION_FAILED

    In the the ical.log file the error ist listed as shown below.

    All nessesary ports are open, and it is possible to download the calendar by typing:

    I searched through the internet and found nothing. It worked before, the users says it occured from one day to another, and as always he didn´t do anything

    I searched through the forum and found something similar:

    not sure if it works, he will test it.

    Maybe anyone can help? I´ll update u as I make any progress.

    Hi Felix, yes i did and it didnt work.

    I upgraded to latest zarafa 7.2 and dont see the old error
    I still cant access subcalendars. I have 2 calendars with subcalendars included.

    http://<my-ip>:8080/caldav/thomas/Kalender -> i can access
    http://<my-ip>:8080/caldav/thomas/Kalender/subtest1 -> i cant
    http://<my-ip>:8080/caldav/thomas/work -> i can
    http://<my-ip>:8080/caldav/thomas/work/subtest2 -> i cant

    Using latest Thunderbird+Lightning. I can access the main calendars by browser but not the sub-calendars. ical.log returns
    I have full permissions set to everyone for both calendar+subcalendar.

    thanks for your help

    Hello Thomas,

    as long as its your own calendar permission don't matter.

    I just tested this and confirmed my initial thought. As Zarafa does not really know a concept of "sub calendars" (its just a calendar which is a level below another calendar) zarafa-ical only works with a flat list of calendars (you could also say that this has been done to make it easier for users to setup calendars via caldav).

    So instead of http://<my-ip>:8080/caldav/thomas/Kalender/subtest1 you have to call the calendar like http://<my-ip>:8080/caldav/thomas/subtest1

    You are right the calendars are flat now. I dont know why it was changed, but in 6.4 it wasnt flat.

    6.4 -> see
    http://server:8080/caldav/<user>/<calendar>/<subcal>

    7.1 -> see
    http://server:8080/caldav/<user>/<subcal>

    works fine now. Thanks for the support.
