Cool Migrationtool not starting at all

So there seems to be something really basic that I am missing.

I am running Zarafa (zcp-7.0.6-32752-debian-6.0-x86_64-supported) on Debian. Workst fine. All upgrades, updates worked fine up to date.

Now it is my first time to migrate someone, I guess I was lucky so far being able to start each user as a new user and simply dumping them there old pst File locally as an archive.

I can not get the migration tool to even start. It dies after 10 seconds with BugTrap. I am running Windows 7 64-Bit Prof. So I thought I'll try it on my other WinXP machine, no go.

So yes, I guess I am missing something really basic here. Anyone any idea or maybe just alink to the right place in the documentation?

Make sure you have .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installed, otherwise please send the bugtrap to us.
Before making a new thread, please make sure that you have searched on our forums and read the Zarafa documentation.

    Hello Steffen,

You can find the documentation here:
    http://doc.zarafa.com/7.0/Migration_...S/html-single/

Also make sure you have the latest client (7.0.6 or 6.40.16). This will resolve the .net dependencies on it own.

    Greetings,

So finally got back at it. It was simply installing the .NET Framework that solved the starting of the Migrator.

I am using the latest 7.0.6 but all I got at the beginning was this BUG TRAP thing. No usable user Message, nothing said about the missing framework untill you pointed it out.

So, the first migration I took a stab at was a direkt Exchange to Zarafa. One User. Grabbed the template for the CSV File an edited it.

Ran it and got the following error Message:

    2012-May-08 13:46:56: Starting migration on 1 stores.
2012-May-08 13:46:56: Starting migration on store '/o=/ou=Worker/ou=Users.company/cn=steffen.g' to user 'steffen.g'.
2012-May-08 13:46:56: Error: Exchange: Could not open users message store (exit @ 147). MAPI error: 0x8004011D

Now as all Admin credentials are correkt and are check by the Migrator, what exaclty am I now doing wrong?

    Hi Steffen,

The csv is an example, you need to open up ADSIEdit on Windows server to get the proper location in the tree to put into the csv file.
I wrote this also in the migration manual, you can export this information with csvde:

    csvde -f C:\zarafa-migrator.csv -d "OU=ExchangeUsers,DC=myserver,DC=local" -r objectCategory=user -l "legacyExchangeDN,sAMAccountname"
Before making a new thread, please make sure that you have searched on our forums and read the Zarafa documentation.

Waow ... I guess this thread is becomeing the "Migration for Dummies" Thread, or simply people which can not read. Sorry for that, I hope this thread helps some poor soul some other day as well.

Now in the documention und using csvde (which worked fine) it says "Now simply open it up in an editor and remove the DN column." Do you mean to open the csv File in Excel or Calc and kill the whole first colum from all users?

Or is this misnamend and you want to delete the first row in the export document?

I realize the documentation could be a bit more clear on this.

    An example export is:
    DN,sAMAccountName,legacyExchangeDN
    "CN=John Doe,OU=ExchangeUsers,DC=myserver,DC=local",johndoe ,/o=TESTER/ou=first administrative group/cn=Recipients/cn=johndoe
I meant with this, open up the file in e.g. excel or libreoffice calc and delete the first (DN) column for the whole file.

So it would look like this:

    sAMAccountName,legacyExchangeDN
    johndoe,/o=TESTER/ou=first administrative group/cn=Recipients/cn=johndoe
And of course to use it for Zarafa migrator to migrate from Exchange -> Zarafa you have to switch it around:

    legacyExchangeDN,sAMAccountName
    /o=TESTER/ou=first administrative group/cn=Recipients/cn=johndoe,johndoe

Well I guess you an I are somewhat extending the documentation here a bit

So that got me at least to some green letters in the Mirgator, but even when the Migrator thinks this means success, unfortunately not yet !!

    Folloing is my Migrator Log:

    2012-May-08 16:31:51: Already migrated attachment count: 0
    2012-May-08 16:31:51: Migration time: 0 seconds
    2012-May-08 16:31:51: Migration completed.

Maybe this helps ... my Exchange and Zarafa Server are both using the same AD of course. So yes, steffen ist steffen and will always be steffen. But considering we are connecting with the Migrator to two different Servers this should not really be the issue.

Good News in the middle of all of this is, the Migrator worked for me using a pst file. But I would still like to have the direct Migration working

Looking a bit around checking for that specific errorr I found something right here in the forum.

    https://forums.zarafa.com/showthread...ll=1#post27548

The errorr is a simple "Not Found" ... ok. Didn't really help as the Exchange User obviously exists and this exact naming of the guy came from csvde executed on the Exchange Server. One would think the Exchange Server knows what the user is called.

    Hmmmm ...
