Thread: SabreDAV backend for Zarafa

    Re: SabreDAV backend for Zarafa

Could you give a copy of the VCard (changing personal data by random stuff) so I can make some tests.

    Thanks

Here you go: made this contact just for testing, so it is almost completely empty. It's called '7c5d2a02-0347-dba4-9617-e773e2b53ecc.vcf' (don't know for sure if the name is random).

    Thanks.

The name is a random GUID. I could have used the entryid but that was causing some problems with clients trying to send guid.vcf files and not being able to retrieve them afterwards because of name change.

Once randomly generated the GUID stay attached to zarafa contact using a custom property

By the way I patched the project documentation about emClient urls. Thanks for this one!

    Re: SabreDAV backend for Zarafa

I just performed a simple version check using . It states that the code should work fine using PHP 5.1:

Please note that this is not enough to remove PHP 5.x functions to make it run on PHP 4 as the object oriented syntax is different between PHP 4 and PHP 5. Nevertheless differences between 5.1 and 5.3 are small enought to believe this code should run in 5.1. I will install a VM to check with CentOs when I will have some time to do so.

Concerning SabreDAV why don't you use the one bundled with sabre-zarafa? Is there a specific problem with CentOs I am not aware of? SabreDAV has not been fully tested with PHP 5.1 but this does not mean it will not work

I tried the budled first (by logging in with a browser), but got an error about the date and timezone. SabreDAV has a Wiki-page dedicated to this problem:
Further research learned me that the data and timezone functions are available for php51, but they have to be enabled when compiled. And it appears that the standard php51 for Centos/RH 5 doesn't support this.

I just uploaded a 0.4 release which, hopefully, should improve CentOs compatibility.
You still need to manually switch to the PHP 5.1 branch of zarafa as I will continue to bundle the official SabreDav release.

As I do not have a CentOs VM available (yet!) I will greatly appreciate your feedbacks!

    Great work.
Tested it in the browser (as I don't have emClient available at this moment), but the php51-branch is indeed still necessary,
Put a bug on Google Code, but that might have been a bit to soon.

Will try it with emClient tomorrow and report the results.

    Re: SabreDAV backend for Zarafa

Tested it with emClient and the php51-branch of SabreDav. I get the following error when changing/adding a contact:

Look like the corruption is still there.
And it doesn't matter if I use mod_rewrite or don't use it.

    Re: SabreDAV backend for Zarafa

In fact using PHP 5.3 one can use some "shorcuts" in the code which are not backward compatibles with 5.1.
So I have to find all the places where I used those shortcuts and fix them. I only fixed the one with the version detection in the 0.4 release. I will make a better code review and try to fix all those for the next release.

Release 0.5 is now available which should fix those PHP 5.1 issues.
As usual you need to manually install SabreDAV PHP 5.1 branch.

I made some small changes to config file:

Keep me posted for PHP 5.1 fixes!
