    Sendmail SMTP Auth Ubuntu

    Hi All,

I have setup a new 6.40 server using ubuntu 10.04. I have configured using sendmail. I am having trouble setting up the SMTP auth for plain login - I have seen people use /usr/sbin/saslauthd -a rimap -O 127.0.0.1 -c in another thread but this does nto work.

any help would be most appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    Mark.

    Re: Sendmail SMTP Auth Ubuntu

    hI,

I have alsio tried setting up SMTP auth in Ubuntu using sendmail but have had not much luck. I have a unix passwd file which users are in - I am able to allow a complete network subnet to relay through when a client is using outlook with an imap account but unable to get smtp auth working. Should I be trying to get Zarafa username/password authentication working or sendmail smtp auth using passwd/shadow ?

    any help would be appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    Mark.
