big properties table - how to reduce the size of this table?

    Hi,

we have registered that we have a big zarafa SQL database backup size (with mysqldump). I have found the script on for getting the size of each table. In our case the properties table is very big. Our attachments are stored as files (and so not stored in the DB). The question is now why the property table is so big (or is this normal?!?). I have also figured out, that if I delete EMails (also deleting from the "deleted objects" folder) the row count of the table properties is incrementing with the number of deleted EMails! I have deleted more as 100 EMails but the size of the properties table is still the same

    Here the concret values:

size of the properties table (calculated by the above script): 1296.84MB
number of rows in properties table: 2023249
number of EMails of all Users (estimated): 20000

Is there a way to cleaning the properties table? Or a any other way for reduce the size of the properties table?

    Regards,
    Steffen

    Steffen,

The properties contain all other fields of your items, expect the attachments.
So all bodies, headers, subjects and so on are stored in the properties table.

1296 Mb is not that big. We have customers with properties tables up to 1Tb.

You can cleanup this table by removing emails or other items.
