Recurring all-day event spills into next day

Using Zarafa 6.40.5.24850 on Ubuntu 8.04.

If I go into web access and create an all-day event (say April Fools Day) and set the recurrence to annual, then I see the event on both April 1 and April 2. The wierd thing is that this happens in March and April, but doesn't seem to happen in Feb and May. I'm really at a loss here...any ideas on what to check?

Timezone on the server is America/New_York and so is the client. Browser is Firefox 3.6 running on Ubuntu 10.04.

Re: Recurring all-day event spills into next day

    Hello HDdave,

I think this has something to do with the daylight saving time. I can reproduce in on a Windows machine if I turn off auto adjust time for daylight saving.
My dates will jump back 1 day (in the creating window).

I will do some more checking so we can make sure we fix it before the dst change.

    Greetings,
    Robin

Thanks Robin, that makes a lot of sense. Is there some kind of test I can run to help track it down?

    Hello Dave,

Can you check if you can enable the auto dst settings?

Is this setting on the client or server?

Re: Recurring all-day event spills into next day

    Hello Dave,

This is configurable in windows. I am not sure if this is also possible in Ubuntu or if this is set by default.
(In windows it works ok if normal dst is enabled.)

Re: Recurring all-day event spills into next day

My client is Ubuntu 10.04 and I can set the timezone, but I don't see any option about DST. I do think it automatically adjusts the system clock when the time comes:

In any event, I would have thought the browser would supply the correct time and time zone of the client to Zarafa web access. I guess my question is what is happening on the server?

    Hello Dave,

I tested this on a ubuntu machine and could reproduce this. I will check with development how we can fix this.

    Greetings,
    Robin

Re: Recurring all-day event spills into next day

    Great -- thanks.

I should mention that after I open the item (dated April 1), and no nothing, but save it -- it gets saved as March 1st. If I open and save it again (doing nothing) it gets saved as February 1st. Not sure if this is the same issue or another one...

    Thanks.

    Hello Dave,

That is even more strange. I will check with development if this can have the same cause.
