[Solved]How to view the members of a distribution list?

    Hi everyone on Zarafa forums,
This is my first post, hope anyone can help me.
W're testing Zarafa 6.40 on a server with Debian Lenny. Zarafa is using Ldap for users, groups, address books, distribution lists, etc.
One of the things I can't figure out is how a user can reveal the members of a distribution list in the Global Address Book. I've checked all the usual sources including this forum but no answer found. When selecting a distribution list to send a mail to, the name of the list is placed between brackets in the address field of the mail, but no members are shown. Also in the Global Address Book itself it's not possible to reveal or expand the members of a distribution list e.g. to rightclick the properties like in Outlook. In this way a user can never be sure to whom the mail is sent to. We use over 100 distribution lists and it is absolutely neccessary for our users to be able to see who is in a list.
I've tested this issue with both migrated lists from Exchange Server 5.5 (good old ;-) ) as newly made distribution lists. In both cases no members are shown.
When I use a distribution list from my own contacts folder the members are expanded when I use it in a mail. But that is no solution for the Global Address Book.

    Hello Jaco,

You cannot view the group members in the webaccess. We are working on a details window for the Global address book contacts.

    Hello Robin,
Any idea when this new feature will be released? In which version?
    Thanks,
    JacO

    Hello Jaco,

It will take quite some development time to create this. It will most probably be a later 6.40 version. In time that would be early next year.

    Greetings,
    Robin

Re: How to view the members of a distribution list?

    Thanks Robin,
In the meantime I've figured out a workaround for this problem. May be not very high-tech, but it could be an acceptable solution while waiting for this feature to be issued:
In the Public Folders I can add a folder called "Distribution list members and description". Then I can add a document to that folder describing the properties of each distribution list including a global description who is member of that list.
Example: 14. LB -MT: Head Office Management Team (6 members). All in Dutch of course. :-)
Then I will have to instruct our 350 users to take a look in this Public Folder each time they want to use a distribution list of the Global Address Book and are not sure of its content.
I hope this workaround is useful for other members of this forum as well.
    Greets,
    JacO

Re: How to view the members of a distribution list?

Seems to be solved, at least in Zarafa 6.40.6.
Double-clicking on a distribution list shows a page "Members" (Leden) with the users mentioned beneath, apparently in a random order. You cannot sort the list in alphabetical order, so that remains a wish for the next version.
    Thnx,
    JacO
