    cyrillic letters in subject line?

    Hi,

one of our clients needs to send emails with cyrillic text in the subject and the body. While the character encoding in the body seems to work, the encoding in the subject does not.

Is this a known problem, or is it just a matter of configuration? If so, how?

The client uses Outlook 2003 and Zarfa 5.22.

    Thanks for any advice!

    Joern

Only HTML emails can contain characters outside the windows-1252 charset that Zarafa uses (which is iso-8851-1 compatible). So cyrilic, which are in a different charset do not work in email headers, including the subject.
A project for Zarafa to fully support UTF-8 will be starting soon, but we currently do not have a target version.
If it isn't reproducable, it's not a bug.
If it is reproducable, it's meant to be that way.

Did I understand you correctly, that it IS possible to use cyrillic letters, if you compose HTML emails?
