What is the best way to migrate from Zarafa 7.1.14 on Debian 6 to Kopano 8.1 on UCS

    Hi,
I searched already the forum, but did not find all the information I need, because it is a bigger step from Z 7.1 to K 8.1.

Currently I'm running Zarafa 7.1.14-51822 on Debian 6.0.6 using Outlook 2010 without LDAP. I now set up Kopano on UCS which uses LDAP on another machine and want to know the best way to migrate. I have 5 users.

    Is it really enough to:

    as xtec wrote it in

What might be necessary modifications of the config files?

    Any hints welcome

    Hello Robma,

the database conversion was only neccesary for upgrades from 6.40 to 7.x and is therefore not needed (as you are already coming from 7.x).

As you are coming from the db plugin you will anyway need to create new accounts/profiles on attached devices (Outlook, mobile devices) the best way is probably to use the old zarafa-backup or the new kopano-backup (here it may be worthwhile to wait for the availability of 8.1.1 through the Univention Appcenter). For the later you can easily specify a socket for backup/restore and therefore can point it to your old Zarafa setup.

    Hello Felix,
thank you for your hint at the zarafa-backup which I already use for backup. So I will look into this.

I just found again the zarafa migration tool. I have a version 7.0.7.34256. Since I use Outlook too it seems convenient to use. Is it possible in my case?

    regards robma

Yes, the old migration tool should work as well.
