Trying to migrate from unix-user plugin to db

    Dear Zarafa Community,

this is my first post in this forum and I would like to introduce myself first:

My name is Walter and I am using Zarafa for multiple years on different machines with pleasure and success!

What I want to do now, is convert a Zarafa Server with UNIX-User plugin to a DB-User plugin one.

After copying the database and the attachment directory to the new server I created the users on the new machine using the "zarafa-admin -c" command (with success).
With the "--list-orphans" command I can see the stores which are not assigned to a user. Trying to hook such a store to a new created user will result in "Unable to hook store, object already exists" the Zarafa Server Log says "hookStore(): store already belongs to a user [error ] Hook of store failed: 0x80000008". That was my "weekend-problem".

    Does anyone have an idea?

    Regards,
    Walter

    Hi Walter,

I doubt that it makes a difference, but can you also post which version you are running and on which os?

Can you execute the same command again, but change the loglevel before. I think 0x00010006 (debug logging of the mysql backend) and once wit 0x00020006 (debug logging of the user plugin) could be interesting here.

PS: when migrating to a new machine it would now also make sense to think about directly going for Kopano.
    Regards Felix

    How to get Kopano

    Hi Felix,

    thanks for your reply!
Perhaps I found a workaround for that problem.

In my testing environment the following solution worked well:

I am going to try that workaround with a copy of the production system during the next days. I will report here of that!

    Regards Walter
