    Kopano migration manual feedback

    Hi,

I found some problems in your Kopano migration manual:

    1. download.kopano.io/supported/kopano:/ doesn't exist, its (now) called download.kopano.io/core:/
    2. curl | apt-key add - doen't work, you need an username and password as well: curl https://<username>:<password>@download.kopano.io/supported/core:/final/Debian_8.0/Release.key | apt-key add -

    no problem

but please take a look again. the curl-line shouldn't and the .list entry has to be separate.
    wrong:
    right:
    edit:
an maybe you should inform the users, that their password shouldn't container special chars like a "!", that caused some problems

Another big problem: spaces in portal-username!

The script accept those usernames, but didn't work.

There are some places in the script where username and password are used ... but they're not quoted!

    for curl

    search : ${username}:${password}
    replace : "${username}:${password}"

for creating the kopano.list for apt
    search : ${username}:${password}
    replace : \"${username}:${password}\"

Without these changes, the script performs a perfect dry-run.
But when running the script with "-r" it starts with purging zarafa-packages and end's up in awaiting a password for a non-existing portal-user!

Without a backup or a running rollback this ends up in a hard workday

btw ... on Debian 7 script actual breaks with a dpkg error in php5-mapi

    regards

    current system : ZARAFA 7.1.13 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (x64) with Z-Admin
    user base : WIN 2008 R2 (x64) with ADS-plugin ...
    backups are overvalued ...
    restore is important ...

    Hi,

why is there on the "Community Download Page", only the "master" Packages from Kopano? And not, as it on the "Supported Download Page" the "master", "pre-final" and "final" Packages? Should I, if I take the packages from the community page, update every day? ...

    Greetings, joker.

you can, but you certainly don't have to. It just that the qa'ed packages (pre-final and final) are now only available to customers with a subscription.

    Thanks for your answer,

but then I think about the change from Zarafa to Kopano again.
Because what if there will soon be no free accounts from Kopano?
Then I would like to use a open source final version and not a master (buggy beta?) version.

    Greetings, joker.

    Hi Joker,

I am not sure I 100% get what you are trying to say. The "free" edition (the one with the three outlook connections) is anyway discontinued and will not be available anymore. If you still have to zarafa mapi client you will be able to continue to use it with Kopano. Kopano itself is completely open source, so you are able to use it without any (technical) limitations.

customers who have bought a subscription help us to pay for such services such as qa'ing builds and therefore have access to these.
    Regards Felix

    hi fbartels,

so I have also already understood.
But what I wanted, is a access to the open source final version (core and webapp) without a account...
(as a Backup Solution, if my Kopano-Account was lost and I can't get a new free Account)
I can understand you if you limit the access for the DeskApp, File-Plugin and Meetings only for the customers who have bought a subscription.
But not for the Core and WebApp, because the Community from Zarafa has access to the final version (zarafa-server and webapp) without a Account.

    In other words:
When I go to "https://download.zarafa.com/community/final/", I can download the final version from zarafa-server and webapp.
And when I go to "https://download.kopano.io/community/", I can not download the final version from core and webapp.

    Why not?

    Greetings, joker.
