Question Having trouble receiving mails trough postfix

    Hello Comunity,

I'm new to setting up linux mailservers (not new to linux itself), and I'm having trouble getting mail received by postfix into zarafa.

I can see the received mail in the mailq, but it won't be delievered to the zarafa mailboxes. I tried several ways to fix this: From adding mailbox-names to the /etc/postfix/virtual to the DB-integration Method described - without success :-(.

I screwed around in most of postfix' conf-files, so maybe I messed something up without knowing.

    Here is my main.cf:
    Here the master.cf:
If any other conf-files are needed, I'll happily provide them.

Is it neccessary to create local unix-users for all mailboxes?

Thanks in advance for any help you'll be able to give to me :-).

    Cheers
    Jasper

    Try:

    mailbox_command = /usr/bin/zarafa-dagent "$USER"

in main.cf or where ever zarafa-dagent is on your system.

or paste some mail.log snippet. there should be a hint what to do.

    Hi mwmail,

I allready got the line in my main.cf. I checked, and the command is in located /usr/bin/ - therefore it should not be neccessary to use the whole path. But I'll try anyway.

    ...

    Jep just checked - doesn't make a difference :-/.

Here are the most recent entrys in my mail.log:
What about those warnings: "warning: connect #9 to subsystem private/zarafa: Connection refused" ?

    Hi,

first try to solve the Postfix warning. "warning: do not list domain my-domain.org in BOTH mydestination and virtual_mailbox_domains" you have to correct this first. There are plenty of answers when you google this error msg.

And have you tried to create the unix user? We have to do this for every zarafa account. so postfix does not say user not found.

Ok, so no admin seems to bother to aprove my last answer - thanks a lot!

Anyway ... with the help of someone who has a little bit more knowledge about postfix than me, I was able to solve the issue.

The problem was in the main.cf (cited in the initial post):

There are to settings wich don't go together well: mailbox_command and mailbox_transport - only one of them can be set!

So I changed this to look this way:

...and after restarting postfix - it works like a charm!

Maybe this helps someone else in the same situation.

    Cheers!

    Dear Jasper,

I had exactly the same problem, and fortunately your solution worked for me as well.
Thank you so much for taking the trouble to post your solution!

    Cheers,
    Gerrit
