    Out of Office automated reply - per sender address once every 24 hours

    Hello everyone,

    My Out Of Office keeps replying to everyone, for every messages.

    It used to be one reply, once per sender address, every 24 hours.

    (this is ever since I my updated my Zarafa server packages).

    Is there a way I can set this back?

    Best regards,

    Marc

    Hello Marc,

    which version are you using? A while back this information was moved from /tmp/ to /var/lib/zarafa maybe this is related to your effect. The configuration file for the out of office replies is /etc/zarafa/autorespond.

    I am on 7.1.14-51822.

    I created the /var/lib/zarafa/autorespond directory. The directory looks always empty.

    My /etc/zarafa/autorespond is default config:

    # -*- Mode: sh -*-
    ###########################################
    # Zarafa autoresponder settings
    ###########################################

    # Autorespond if we were only in the Cc of a message
    AUTORESPOND_CC=0

    # Autorespond if we were not in the message at all
    AUTORESPOND_NORECIP=0

    # Only send reply to same e-mail address once per 24 hours
    TIMELIMIT=$[24*60*60]

    BASE_PATH=/var/lib/zarafa/autorespond

    # File which contains where vacation message was sent
    SENDDB=$BASE_PATH/zarafa-vacation-$USER.db

    # Tempfile containing message that will be send
    SENDDBTMP=$BASE_PATH/zarafa-vacation-$USER-$$.tmp

    # Customize your actual mail command, normally sendmail
    # Input to this command is the message to send
    SENDMAILCMD=/usr/sbin/sendmail

    # Additional parameters for the $SENDMAILCMD
    # The last parameter added to the $SENDMAILCMD is $FROM,
    # so take that into account for the $SENDMAILPARAMS
    SENDMAILPARAMS="-t -f"

    Update:

    Okay so at least I got it back working but it's using original /tmp location:

    in /etc/zarafa/autorespond I changed this:

    #SENDDB=$BASE_PATH/zarafa-vacation-$USER.db
    SENDDB=${TMP:-/tmp}/zarafa-vacation-$USER.db

    # Tempfile containing message that will be send
    #SENDDBTMP=$BASE_PATH/zarafa-vacation-$USER-$$.tmp
    SENDDBTMP=${TMP:-/tmp}/zarafa-vacation-$USER-$$.tmp

    Reference:

    I hope I'll eventually be able to make the new autorespond directory working. I'll keep trying! Any suggestions welcome :P

    The process creating the out of office messages is a simple bash script, since it works from /tmp my guess would be that you have a permission problem. Running zarafa-autorespond with bash -x and both locations should give an indicator where it goes wrong.
