How to make a crashdump of Outlook.

Sometimes Outlook crashes. It can be very helpfull to have a minidump file of the crash.

How to create a dump file under Microsoft Vista:
1A Please follow the steps from the Microsoft support site to get the best dump file with the most and correct information.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931673

1B: How to create a dump file under Microsoft Vista:

Force Microsoft Vista to save the error report by setting the following registry key to 1:
    Code:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\ForceQueue
Start the application and reproduce the crash.

When you have a crash the error reports can be stored in any of the following directories:
    Code:
    C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue
    C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\temp
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportQueue
    The files which are interesting:
    *.tmp.mdmp
    *.tmp.version.txt
    *.tmp.appcompat.txt
And maybe the file *.tmp.hdmp if it isn't too large.

1B: How to create a dump file under Microsoft Windows XP:

The moment you get a popup that Outlook needs to restart, open explorer and go to the following directory:
    Code:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Temp
    The files which are interesting:
    *.DMP

After you found the .DMP file, open taskmanager (taskmgr.exe) and kill the outlook process and DW20.exe.
You need to kill the process while the previous mentioned popup is still there, otherwise the .DMP file will be removed automatically.
Additionally, while the outlook process is running the .DMP file can't be moved or copied.

    2:
Compress the files and send the files and version information of Zarafa and Outlook to [email protected].
If the compressed file is larger than 20 Mb, please upload it somewhere where we can download the file, and add a link in the email.

    Imar and Michel.
    Nuts, by definition limited.
