    great

so any ideas how to use the new plugin ?!
looks like the plugin got a strange hard dependency to zarafa
    current system : ZARAFA 7.1.13 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (x64) with Z-Admin
    user base : WIN 2008 R2 (x64) with ADS-plugin ...
    backups are overvalued ...
    restore is important ...

    Hi,

unfortunately I will not have much time to work on this. For now, I have removed the dependency on the files plugin completely. This change should be part of the next daily build.
Besides this fix, I don't think there are many options for workarounds.

    Kind regards,

    Christian

    thx, Christian ...
... was able to uninstall files-plugin in order to install the new beta-version ...
Install works and files-admin is changed in WebApp ... but still problems to use it ...
I'm unable to add an account ... the dropdown-menu "select backend" remains empty ...

both plugins for OwnCloud and Samba are installed ...

posted this problem in the beta-section ... but still no answer from zarafa ...

    regards

    Rico

    Hi choffmann,

are the repos still maintained by yaffas ? I want to actually update yet on webapp 2.2 for my Ubuntu 12.04 .
    That leaves nothing good guess

and fbartels indicates, in fact univention . Whereby which never come to the yaffas GUI . I need but no app Monster for Zarafa and 50 users .
Yaffas is the better Admin GUI for Zarafa .
For me there is now namely the question whether even migrate to Ubuntu 04.14 or seek an alternative for Zarafa.

    Hi zaraf,

sorry for not replying earlier. Meanwhile, I have changed jobs and will no longer be able to contribute to yaffas. Seems like an official statement has been posted here:

    Kind regards,

    Christian

I agree that it is sad that the community will have to get along without yaffas in the future. However, I totally understand bitbone's decision, especially since the two main driving factors (Z-Admin and bitkit) had to be discontinued.

While I do not know the Univention Corporate Server licenses off-hand, maybe there are personal licenses for free usage as well?

There is indeed a free "core edition". an overview can be seen at

Currently Univention has "apps" for ZCP, WebApp, WebMeetings (and of course Z-Push). We are currently in the process of getting Kopano into Univention as well (currently already available in Univentions Test Appcenter, just issue "ucr set appcenter/index/verify=no update/secure_apt=no repository/app_center/server='appcenter-test.software-univention.de'" on a freshly installed system and you will find them in their appcenter.)

While the old integration packages has been open source as well, it did not have public sources and was quite scattered. This is something we want to change for the Kopano integration package. There is a dedicated wiki over at the Z-Hub (), the sources are online as well () and it has an issue tracker (). Registration to all these services is possible from the issue tracker ( to be precise).

From what I know of Bitkit/Yaffas/Z-Admin the current integration packages is missing an web ui for backup/restore and tuning. If you can't live without these we are looking or your code contributions ;-)

PS: yes, its the same infrastructure that runs the Z-Push project.
    Regards Felix

ah, this forum is still alive thank you!

to be honest, I don't really understand the UCS System (maybe its the name, for me it is a cisco blade center ), but I will take a closer look. it seems like a "whole" server and not just some packages, I can install on my existing server? that would be a problem too...

so far I used yaffas mainly because it was "easy" and I just could use LDAP as a user-base, without dealing with the whole LDAP-System (I never really figured it out...but its just me ). I already thought, that I maybe use docker to install ZCP and LDAP (in _two_ different containers ofc) and just make it work...somehow. but since I am using it only for me family and me, I couldn't spend hours to figure it out....yet

and since nobody really seams interested in a decent docker-version and the ones, they maybe use it, don't care about LDAP, it won't be easy...
btw: why docker? there are none 16.04. ZCP packages so far and with docker ZCP would work on 16.04. in a 14.04. container. additional its so much more easy to migrate, test new versions etc.

I'll keep you posted, if I got time to take care about all this...

    kind regards

Its summer, its always a bit more quiet in summer.

If you want to build docker images then do so. I personally do not see a good use case for docker here, since we are dealing with a lot of data. Docker is nice when you can completly rely on third party services for data keeping, but I would not put a complete groupware into "a" container.

So you then have to orchestrate multiple containers (because in Docker every service should be a dedicated container) for mail transport, ldap, zarafa/kopano-server, MySQL/MariaDB, something for attachment handling (going for something s3 compatible here would be more in the spirit of Docker) since a file mount is not cool enough. And all this is already way to complicated your selfhosting at home ;-) And I did not even mention the containers for WebApp, Z-push, ...

Fun fact: Univention also want to go "full Docker" for its app center. But they also have a non-standard view on the use case of Docker.
